Our Mission

DATA-DRIVEN INTELLIGENCE FOR COLLECTORS

We built BladeIndex to give knife collectors and enthusiasts the same kind of transparent, data-driven market intelligence that stock traders use every day. Before BladeIndex, figuring out what a knife was actually worth meant scrolling through sold eBay listings manually and doing mental math.

Now you can see average sale price, 52-week lows and highs, 90-day sales volume, and how any knife compares to its manufacturer retail price — all in one place, updated daily.

📈
Real Market Prices
Not asking prices. Not estimated values. Prices that buyers actually paid for the same knife.
🔍
MSRP Comparison
Every knife shows how its current market price stacks up against the manufacturer's suggested retail.
📅
Historical Trends
See how a knife's value has moved over time — whether it's appreciating, depreciating, or stable.
Under the Hood

HOW THE DATA WORKS

Every data point on BladeIndex is sourced from real transactions, not estimates.

01
Step 01
Daily Scraping
Our scraper runs every day, pulling recently sold and active listings from eBay. We filter out bulk lots, accessories, and price outliers so only genuine single-knife sales make it into the database.
02
Step 02
MSRP Comparison
We cross-reference each knife's average sale price against the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). This tells you at a glance whether the secondary market is above or below retail — and by how much.
03
Step 03
Price History & Trends
52-week highs and lows, 30-day price changes, and 90-day volume are all calculated from raw transaction records. Nothing is estimated or interpolated.
